The women who write for Lifegate Women are committed and passionate about leaning into Jesus, listening closely and writing only what points back to Him. Above all else, they know that the Lord seeks to encourage and grow us. They all have stories that express His goodness and deep love. Want to get to know our writers a little better? Peek below for their bios!
Kimi shepherds and cares for the women of Lifegate while helping them break free from the lies of the enemy. She loves watching women step out of the dark into Jesus’ light while experiencing His freedom. In 2016, she earned her Masters in Christian Ministry with a concentration in theology. Her free time is filled with walking her Australian Cattle Dog, adventuring with her family and geocaching for real-life treasure.

Mande has been married to James for 15 years and is mama to two of the most beautiful daughters in all the land. After dancing around meeting her Savior for several years, she finally came face-to-face with Jesus at age 22, when she found herself in the deep despair of post-partum depression. He’s been working on the restoration of her heart ever since. Mande works full time in ministry and loves cozy evenings spent cuddled on the couch with her family, a good movie and big bowls of popcorn.

Marisa and her handsome hubby Kyle have been married since 2014. They are dog parents to a spoiled Vizsla named Snips. Marisa is a passionate middle school art teacher, track coach, and cross country coach. Marisa learned that Jesus was more than someone we talk about on Sundays when she was twelve. She started a personal relationship with Him amidst the loneliness of her parents’ divorce, and she has been going on adventures with the Lord ever since. You can usually find Marisa on a run, walking her dog, making some doodles, or with her nose in a good book.

Hilary and her husband Marc have been married since 2005. She stays at home to home school their four children. Hilary came to know the Lord by way of her mom, who introduced her to Jesus at a young age. As a teen she tried living life her own way but after seven years Hilary was drawn back to the Lord by His loving kindness, finally surrendering to Jesus in March 2000. Hilary prays her writing glorifies Him and draws many closer to the Lord.

Dianne is a recent retiree after 40+ year in the work force, the last 30 of which were in education. (her favorite!). Writing has been a part of her life since childhood. Armed with a new Big Chief tablet and freshly sharpened pencils was a great way to start any day. Her only concern about retiring was losing her identity, value and purpose. But the Lord in His love, has filled the last few years with healing, revelation, and more possibilities than Dianne could have ever imagined. It’s a whole new adventure!

In October 1998, April found herself on a date that had been arranged by her future mother-in-law. Two and a half years later, April married Dan and in 2017 they celebrated 16 years. She has two children – one of each – because she figured she only had two hands for helping them cross the street. Jesus started wooing April when she was very young and their relationship was cemented during the three summers she worked as a church camp counselor. She’d ideally love to write amazing worship songs or truth-filled children’s books, but instead is writing the novel that God birthed in her heart. April works full-time on the administrative team of a Christian school.
