Welcome, friends!

Hey, beautiful!

I’m so happy you’re here reading the Lifegate Women blog. It is a blessing and an honor to be able to share what the Lord is teaching me with you, as well as continuing to grow in my faith walk alongside you. One of my favorite things to do is to go for coffee and talk about Jesus with friends. I envision this as a similar experience: coffee, honest conversation, and growing in relationship with each other and the Lord.

Before we become friends, you may want to know a few things about me. Here’s the condensed version. I’ve known about the Lord my whole life, but I didn’t know Him until I was twelve. Since then, He’s taken me on many adventures, and I fall more in love with my Savior daily. I’m a wife and dog mom. I’ve been married to my handsome hubby, Kyle, since 2014. Our fur baby is an extremely spoiled Vizsla named Snips. I’m a middle school art teacher in OPS. I also coach cross country and track. I am extremely passionate about enriching the lives of the next generation. I love spending time with my family and extended family. I make lots of doodles, paintings, drawings, and prints. I like to use my creativity to spend time with God. I’m an avid runner, and I have a group of friends with whom I run. We’ve earned the name The Running Fools. I have the travel bug, and I love to talk to others about their adventures.

Ever since I was a young girl, I’ve loved stories and writing. Just ask my parents about ALL of the books they’d have to read to me when I was a kid before I’d attempt to go to bed! In high school, I was a “mini teacher,” and I would often be called upon to edit papers. I may be ill because I actually LOVE to edit. A common occurrence in my home is my husband finding me snoring (I mean, “beauty resting”) in our bed at midnight with a book plastered to my face and all of the lights still on. So, when the leaders of Lifegate Women asked us to pray about what area of ministry spoke to us the writing team jumped out at me. I’ve been praying about it for the last year, and God seems to keep pointing me back to it.

I came to Lifegate Women in January 2016. I went because I was in the midst of a great personal struggle, and my counselor suggested seeking fellowship. I was only going to try it once, but I’ve been going every week since! The ladies of Lifegate are some of the best people I’ve ever met, and I consider it one of my greatest blessings to be able to spend time with and learn from these beautifully faith-filled women.  You see, when I started at Lifegate Women I was like a corpse wandering through my life. I felt empty, like a shell that lacked any joy. Holy Spirit worked through my sisters in Christ to revive me. Through this ministry, walls have been shattered, and I am so excited to be stepping into a purpose-filled life fully alive. I want that for every woman. Imagine the power of every woman, living, breathing, and loving fully alive for the Lord!

So, thank you for giving me a chance to tell you what God has been teaching me. My prayer is that my testimonies about His work in my life would not shine a light on me, but only point to Him and His continued faithfulness. It is my hope that my experiences highlight that I am not perfect, nor am I in charge, but I know the One who is the Author and Perfecter of our faith. So, like a warm mug of coffee, take your time with this blog. Relax and truly savor the messages herein. Jesus, Kimi, Mande, and I are so excited to start this adventure with you!
