Do you ever feel like you need four more hands to get everything done in your house? The laundry never ends, there are always dishes to do, and I won’t even mention that closet you have been intending to organize for seven years. If we only focus on our house, we would miss the people. Little ones need lots of physical love and care, teenagers need lots of mental love and grace on top of grace, and big kids (aka adult kids) need cheerleaders in their lives regardless of the season. Then there are co-workers, friends, and meals to make for many families who are in need. The list goes on and on.
Feeling overwhelmed, yet? I am. Where is our purpose in the midst of all the “good” things we need to do? Jesus said, “The harvest is indeed plentiful but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest field.” Matthew 9:37-38 AMP
Have you ever talked to a farmer right before harvest? They gaze over a field with intense anticipation because they alone understand the hard work that ran into late nights and early mornings. They prepare the field, plant the seeds, and watch the seeds grow for five months. All of their hard work is about to pay off as they salivate over their field of crops. Do you have the same sense of excitement as you look at the harvest fields in your life?
Ask the Lord where your harvest lies and make that your purpose with all of your heart. If God calls you to focus on those babies, be content in your purpose because God called you there. If God calls you to make meals for every house on your block, God will bless it. If you’re in the middle of God’s purpose for your life, you will reap a harvest ten-fold. Take comfort and be content in God’s purpose for your life and “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up” Galatians 6:9.

Read 1 Corinthians 3:6-9. Where are you planting seeds? Where are you watering a seed that someone else planted?
Prayer point: Ask the Lord for your harvest field and surrender your life to His purpose.
