Whose plan are you living out?

“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”
Ephesian 2:10 NLT

How often do you plan your day? What about setting goals for yourself? Have you ever taken the time to boil down why those goals are important to you?

Goals and planning are important, they help you to stay on track and progress in life.

But how often are our goals based off how we see ourselves and our value?

Many times when looking to set goals, they are based off a need we have created. Usually when you figure out the “Why” to the goals, it ends with why you need to do it for yourself –  they become personal.

I know when I start my work day, I make a list in order of highest priority based on the job. Checking things off my list gives me a sense of accomplishment, and accomplishments give me a sense of value.

But what would our lists look like if we sat down with our Heavenly Father to identify our daily plans, to do lists, and life goals? I can assure you they wouldn’t look quite the same.

This week, take time to ask our Heavenly Father what his plans are for you. Ask Him how you should step out of the boat in Faith. What are His daily assignments for you? Ask Him who you should help and whom you need to teach. Let Him be your guide when setting your goals and plans. Stay close to Him, walk obediently in line with His Word and watch as things fall into place according to His plan.

Digging Deeper:

Knowing that God made you for His purpose and His plan, meditate on Proverbs 16:3, Proverbs 16:9 and Psalms 119:26. Remember that you are His masterpiece, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for you to do!  Ask Him to reveal your direction day by day.. Write out one of the above verses at the top of your To Do list or hang it somewhere that you will see it throughout the day. Be sure to write down your daily plan and assignments from the Lord and check them off as He brings you to them. Plan to share His good works with your family, friends and women at your table.
