What You Bring to the Table

However, you are chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, people who belong to God. You were chosen to tell about the excellent qualities of God, who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.  1 Peter 2:9

You were chosen.

Before you were ever conceived, God chose you.

He chose you to be part of His story.

Each week, as you gather around the table and encourage one another in the faith, you glorify the Father, and add sentences to each chapter He is writing.  Make no mistake, dear daughter!  He chose you to be part of this study, and part of the women’s circle at your table.  He chose you, because He knows you bring value.

You bring value, simply because of who you are.

All of your life’s experiences, and the wisdom you’ve gained – they are meant to be shared.  Sometimes it can be a little scary to open up – to be vulnerable – and expose what we are going through, or have been through, but each time we do, we are allowing God to use those moments to stretch and grow us. And grow those around us.

God wants us to become more and more like Him. Part of that process is bringing things from our past into the light so that they lose their grip on us. When we do this, we give Him more room to work in our hearts – to soften them even more – so that we begin to look more and more like Jesus.  It’s not quick, and it’s not painless, but it is worth it.

Your story has value.  If you have never written out your story – your testimony – I encourage you to take some time this week to do so.  As you do, you will begin to see how God’s hand was working in your life – even if you didn’t see it at the time.  You are here because you are chosen!

Remember what is recorded in Psalm 139:16: You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.

Digging Deeper

Read Romans chapter 12 in its entirety and let these words settle deep in your heart.  Thank God for all He has orchestrated in your life, and look forward with expectation in all He has yet to do!
