More precious than diamonds

Diamond Jewel ,high Resolution 3D Image, Vintage Style

A good woman is hard to find, and worth far more than diamonds.

Proverbs 31:10 (MSG)

I wear a diamond wedding ring on my ring finger. Tony and I searched together and picked the perfect diamond for us. It was a joyful, exciting time. The diamond was so shiny and brilliant. I would look at it for extended periods of time – in awe of its beauty.

Since that time, my ring has been covered in paint, mud, and baby poo just to name a few things. Sometimes it gets bumped and scraped as I work hard on a project. Most days it is dirty and dull because I don’t regularly clean and polish it. Because it has been on my hand for so many years, there are days that I do not even look at it, let alone spend time in awe of it. Because it has been a part of my daily life for 14 years now, it is often blurred into the other mundane things of life. Sometimes I look at myself in the same way that I described my ring.

                                            Dull,
                                                                         dirty,
                                                                                                       and boring.

Do you know how much the most expensive diamond in the world is worth?

The most expensive diamond ever sold on record was in 2013. A 59.6 flawless pink diamond called the Pink Star was auctioned for $83.2 million!

There is another diamond in the British Crown Jewels collection that experts say cannot even be valued. They estimate that it is worth 3.5 times the wealth of the whole world! WOW!

When God looks at you, He sees you through the blood of Christ. Bright, sparkling and clean. He is in awe of you as His daughter. He says that you are more precious than diamonds. You are more valuable than 3.5 times the wealth of the world! You, my dear, are priceless.

Digging Deeper

Sister, you are not dull, dirty or boring! You are a precious jewel to the Creator of the Universe. Take time to journal about a time when you did not feel valued. Ask God to heal this wound and replace this memory with the truth of His love for you.
