Heart 2 Hearts

“Unless I Build the House…”

In 2012 our Vision is to Advance.  As I was praying about what we would be studying in Hearts this session I heard God say, “Unless I build the house…”  I kept praying and I heard it again, “Unless I build the house…”  Wow, I thought, that fits perfect with this Session, Home: Our Dwelling Place.  But I kept talking to the Lord about it and I heard it again! “Unless I build the house…”  “OK, Lord, I’ll look it up. :)”  On Tuesday we studied Psalm 127:1-2,

Unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain.  Unless the LORD watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain. In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat—for he grants sleep to those he loves.

We all build.  We build homes, careers, nurture children, care for parents, and serve our community.  We have so much on our To Do lists and the capability of accomplishing so much more per minute because of technology, multitasking, and crowded calendars.  But unless the Lord BUILDS, all of our achievement is in vain.  Unless the Lord BUILDS, how can we ADVANCE into what he has called us to this year?

In 2012, God will be acknowledged in all we do…

By seeking his direction
By depending upon his help
By giving him the glory

Remember, when our thoughts and attitudes come out from under His authority, we begin to build in vain.

We will be joining in the Awake 21 fast beginning this Sunday for 3 weeks.  I encourage all of you to take part in it.  Decide now what you will be fasting during this time and trust God for his guidance and grace.  You will find explanation and great resources at Awake21.org

Food Schedule for 1/17  includes tables 1-5.  Remember the AWAKE 21 fast begins this Sunday, 1/15-2/4.  Please bring fruits and vegetables and juice during this time to share with the group, before 9am.
