Before the foundation of this world, God had a plan…to Dwell in and with his people. To know them, search for them, find them, free them, and love them.
In the Garden:
The man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden. But the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?” Genesis 3:8-9
They were full of shame, but God looked for them.
Moses said to Pharoah: ‘God, the God of the Hebrews, sent me to you with this message, “Release my people so that they can worship me in the wilderness.”‘ Exodus 7:16
They were enslaved, but God came to free them.
In the Wilderness:
God said: “Have them make a sanctuary for me, and I will dwell among them.” Exodus 25:8
In the wilderness of their lives, God moved with them.
To fulfill his Plan:
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. John 1:14
To end our battle with sin he came in human form to live among us. He was the sacrifice that satisfied all payment for every sin past, present, and future.
God’s tabernacle or dwelling place is now our heart. He dwells with us always, until one day when we will see him face to face.
