Heart 2 Hearts

I often say to my children…”do you have a happy heart?”…or as they got older, “how’s your heart right now?”  I want them to recognize the condition of their heart – or Heart Disease – as Christine called it today…

We all have it.  It is almost humorous how we make our lives presentable on the outside, covering struggles, hurts, and even sin all the while God looks straight to our heart.  1 Samuel 16:7

  1. We all have “Heart Disease”
  2. God gave us a PRESCRIPTION…it is in his Word Ps. 119:4, “You, God, prescribed the right way to live; now you expect us to live it.”
  3. Change our DIET: Watch what you take in. Is it good for you?
  4. Begin to EXERCISE: What we choose to do…exercise our faith.
  5. Watch for the BENEFITS of a changed life!

Homework for your quiet times:  Read Psalm 119.  Pay attention to the pattern that cycles throughout this chapter.  Spend some time thinking, praying, or journal about your observations.

Meditation Verse:  Psalm 27:4

One thing I ask of the Lord, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.

Hearts is hosting the Presbytery on October 25.  Due to the different set-up and flow of the morning we will not be having food, so if you were scheduled for this day, you get the week off.  Also, please be sure to welcome all of the new faces as we Reach UP, Reach AROUND, and Reach OUT that morning.  Introduce yourself to two people you don’t know.

I encourage you to listen to the Hearts Omaha podcast if you missed today’s teaching.  It is worth another listen.  http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/hearts-omaha/id389582307

Have a wonderful week Dwelling with HIM!

Much Love,
Lisa Keith / Director of Lifegate Women : Hearts Coordinator
