Some days I wake up and say, “What’s the most important thing I have to get done today?” Sometimes it is tending to my house and other days it is connecting with a certain person or paying an important bill. We all have TO DO lists and priorities for our day. Many times I get overwhelmed by the sheer quantity of items on my list.
Today in Hearts, Anne Rice, reminded me that “digging a well” is my #1 priority. Spending a quiet time alone, just me and God, is so vital to my life. It draws me closer to my Father God. It is a source of nourishment for my spirit. It establishes a dwelling place in which everything in my life flows from.
I encourage you to listen to the Hearts Omaha podcast if you missed today’s teaching. It is worth another listen.
Take time to Journal this week:
1. Does your quiet time look more like the famine of Gerar or the dwelling place of Beersheba? (revelation, worship, consistent life flow)
2. What are some of the challenges you face when it comes to spending daily time with the Lord?
3. When would be the best time of day for you to “dig a well”?
Food Schedule for 10/11 includes tables 1-5. Please bring a healthy snack to share with the group. We are always getting more requests for fruit, veggies, and casseroles.
